FAQ
Questions, answered.
How Sunnr works, what the day itself looks like, and what to expect from the people running it.
The basics
What is Sunnr?
Sunnr is where you find curated real-world activities, hikes, supper clubs, matches, gallery days, and the people to do them with. Every activity is run by a verified expert host; you pick one, request to join or rally your own squad, and go.
Who creates the activities?
Curators and vendors. Curators are verified individuals who host brilliantly; vendors are venues and businesses like comedy clubs, studios and tour operators. Members join their activities rather than posting their own, and that one decision keeps quality high.
What does Sunnr cost?
The app is free. Free activities cost nothing, ever. Paid activities show their price and payment terms up front, before you join.
Is Sunnr a dating app?
No. Sunnr is for days out: hikes, dinners, matches, culture, with people who want to do them too. Friendship and good company are the point. If something more grows out of a great day, that is your story to write, but every plan here is about the activity.
What ages is Sunnr for?
Everyone 18 and over. Ages show on profiles, so you always know who you are joining, and each plan naturally attracts the crowd that loves it.
Where do activities happen? Is Sunnr in my city?
Wherever curators and vendors run them: trails, venues, studios, restaurants. Discovery is location based, set a nearby radius or browse by city and country. We grow city by city, so if yours looks quiet today, check back soon.
On the day
What actually happens on an outing?
The host runs the plan as listed: the route, the table, the tickets. You show up, meet your squad, and enjoy the day. The group chat opens as soon as you are in, so you can agree on a meetup point and recognise each other.
What is expected of me?
Come as the person on your profile, arrive on time, and be good company. If you are running late or can no longer make it, say so in the chat. Afterwards, rate the activity and the host; ratings are what keep the good days good.
Are food, drinks and side activities included?
Only when the activity says so. Anything the listing does not include, like food bills, drinks or optional side activities, is paid by you on the day. Read the activity details before joining so you know exactly what is covered.
What does my ticket cover?
Exactly what the activity promised at the time you booked. If the listing changes later, your booking keeps the original terms. If the day delivers less than promised, contact support and tell us.
What if I don't click with the group?
That happens, and it is fine. Be polite, enjoy the activity for what it is, and you owe nobody a second meetup. The next squad is one request away.
Who will be in my squad?
Whoever the day brings together. Squads form around the activity rather than a formula: the host accepts each member personally, every member has a real profile with photos, age and interests, and the group chat opens as the squad forms, so you meet everyone before you meet everyone.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. Share your request with them: every request has a share link and a 6-character code they can type into the app's search bar. Once the host accepts them, you are in the same squad. Friends new to Sunnr can join right after signing up.
How do I keep in touch with people I met?
Your connection stays after the day: the chat keeps working and nothing expires. Rate the day, keep talking, and when the next plan comes up, bring the same squad or join theirs.
Can I check if an activity fits my accessibility needs?
Activity details describe the day: the route, the venue, the pace. If your access needs are not addressed in the listing, contact support before you join and we will get the answer from the host.
Do I need to bring anything, like ID?
Your ticket lives in the app; at vendor-run events you are checked in with its QR code. Bring physical ID only when the activity says so, for example age-restricted venues.
I have allergies or dietary needs. How does that work?
Food activities list what is included. Mention your needs in your join message so the host knows from the start, and check the details for anything not covered. Food and drinks outside the listing are yours to choose and pay on the day.
Booking & changes
What kinds of activities are there, and when do they run?
Categories run from hikes and supper clubs to sports, culture and gigs. Some are one-time events with a fixed date. Recurring ones are standing experiences: you pick the date that suits you when you create your request.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
You can delete your own request while nobody has been accepted yet. Once your squad forms, talk to them in the chat. Paid activities show a payment deadline up front, and payments are final once it passes; refunds are handled through support.
Curators & vendors
How are curators and vendors positioned?
They are the supply side of Sunnr: everything you can join comes from them. Curators bring expertise and personality; vendors bring venues and operations. Both pass identity and quality review before they can list anything.
What is expected of them?
To deliver the day exactly as listed: the schedule, the inclusions and the price. Members rate every activity, and those ratings decide who keeps hosting. Hosts who fall short lose their spot.
Can I become one?
Yes. Apply at sunnr.life/become-a-curator or sunnr.life/become-a-vendor. It takes five minutes and every application is read by a person.
Trust & safety
How do I know people are who they say they are?
ID verification with an automated check, verified badges, ratings after every activity, plus blocking and reporting. Your exact location is never shown to anyone; others only ever see an approximate distance, and only if you allow it.
Where can I read more about staying safe?
The Safety Center covers meeting people safely, your tools, and what to do if something happens: sunnr.life/safety-center.
